Defending Premier League champions, Manchester City have successfully secured one of their most important players this season. They officially convinced Kyle Walker to last longer at the Etihad Stadium.

Walker first joined The Citizens in 2017. He was bought from Tottenham Hotspur with a fantastic dowry of 45 million pounds.

But City's big investment in Walker is sweet. The 29-year-old defender became a formidable figure on the right side of the Citizens defense so they won two consecutive years in the Premier League.

Satisfied with the performance of the defender, City officially extended the defender's contract until the next 2024, where the England national team player also felt proud to be able to strengthen The Citizens for much longer.

"I am really proud to sign a new contract here. Playing for City is all my dream and I want to get more with this club."

"Signing this contract is an easy decision. I want to compete for the title, play at the highest level and I feel growing rapidly as a player here."

"This club's vision both on and off the field really suits me, and I can't wait to spend another five years with this club and hopefully we win more championship trophies."

Important figure

City Technical Director Txiki Begiristain said he was satisfied that he could reach a new contract agreement with the defender, because he considered Walker to be an important player in his team.

"We are very happy that Kyle is willing to add to his tenure here for another two years. He is a core player in this team. His strength, speed and ability are truly vital for this team."

"His experience was truly valuable to us, especially to guide our young players. He made a crucial contribution in our efforts to continue to succeed." he said
